St Andrew Square

At the Eastern End of George Street lies this main Square which was intended to directly mirror Charlotte Square at the West End. Here you can get a real feel for the grandeur of the New Town ideal – home to some of Scotland’s greats: David Hume the philosopher, and politician and inventor Henry Brougham.

The Bus Station can be found in the North-eastern Corner next to the large up-market department store Harvey Nichols. Buses leave from here to all parts of the UK, and even some international services. For further information about scheduled departures and fares, and to book tickets, check out

Chocolate Soup

A haven for the comfort-eater, chocolate soup specialises in just that – the best mug of hot chocolate that Edinburgh has to offer, along with a great selection of cakes and snacks. Located at the Princes St end of St Andrew Square.
