main navigation:Tucked humbly away between the grandeur of Princes Street and the affluence of George Street, Rose Street is a charming pedestrianised street full of interesting shops and good places for a drink or a bite to eat.
Rose Street is so named in tribute to England, whose national flower is the Rose, although local legend has it that it was named after the roses that grew on the northern bank of the Nor’Loch, Now Waverley and Princes Street gardens, before the Scottish enlightenment and the development of the New Town. It is home to some charming pubs that have hardly changed in 100 years, and others that have moved with the times. The Rose Street pub-crawl is considered one of the essential Scottish nights out, and is quite a challenge even for the thirsty…
El Barrio is a long- standing institution in Edinburgh, having moved from its original location by the Westport, the new venue is a great restaurant serving latin spirit by the glass. The Latin flavour shifts form ythe kitchen to the Dancefloor as the evening moves on. Ideally located, the Rose Street Brewery is the perfect place to pop in and have a delicious meal with friends. Be inspired for summer and sit in our relaxed outdoor area. A great place to share a bottle of wine and watch the world go by.
