The Stand
Edinburgh’s best known and best loved dedicated Comedy venue has been going for 12 years, and has built a great reputation for showing the best talent from Scotland. There is a sister club in Glasgow, and between them they are what is best about Scottish comedy: it’s an intimate room, the ideal space to laugh raucously, and maybe get a bit picked on by the comedians if you carelessly sit at the front… An un-missable Edinburgh night out.

80 Queen Street
Sat on the corner at the West end of Queen Street is this calm, sophisticated bar and restaurant where you can soak up some great live jazz, have a drink and fantastic food. It has recently become established as one of the premier jazz venues in the city, showcasing the best talent around. The house-band plays on Saturday afternoons, and there is a jazz open-mike night Every Wednesday where you can come and give it what you’ve got. It’s very relaxed in here, and with mellow tunes it’s the perfect place to while away a quiet evening and enjoy some dinner or wind down the day after.
