main navigation:‘The Walk’ is the main thoroughfare heading north to Leith and The Shore. Packed with shops, groceries, and a variety of bars and pubs full of characters with stories to tell of the area – the pub with a panther, the days of the docks. Leith used to be regarded as the red light town neighbouring Edinburgh, but despite its own identity it’s still part of the main event, and you’re missing out if you don’t check it out.
The best place to grab a snack on your way down the Walk – specially good sandwiches, try the tuna mayonnaise… it’s quite a long way down on the right, and there’s comfy sofas to sit on in the back room with a laid back ambience.
This friendly bar is becoming an institution of Leith Walk – always busy with an unrivalled selection of imported bottled beers as well as the regulars on tap. The staff are super-friendly and you can take a tabke at the back or loung on cushions in the window and watch the world roll by.
