About Dexplore

Dexplore sprang from an ambition to innovate in the field of tourism in a way that would benefit both visitors and their travel destination.

We aim that through the integrated product of a deck of cards and website backup we can show visitors the best things that a city or country has to offer, whilst saving them money on a range of products and services including amongst others, entrance to major tourist attractions, accommodation food and drink.

A Dexplore deck is also a fully playable pack of professionally made, high quality playing cards – the perfect present, souvenir and socially interactive travel accessory. At the same time we aim to provide affordable, high volume, targeted advertising to local businesses and attractions, and offer a commercially profitable product to retailers both within and without the cities. Our overall aim is to run an ethical, responsible and yet fun company that works with and encourages local enterprise.

Will Bates

Will Bates has survived on shoestring guides throughout the world during years of overseas and UK travel, principally in Scotland and Latin America, and lived in Ecuador and Costa Rica. Since completing a Spanish degree at St. Andrews University he has restored two homes, worked as an abseiler on some of Europe's highest buildings and designed overseas adventure tours for Scotlands leading adventure travel company. He is a keen climber and Mountain Biker and considers himself a slightly better poker player than he really is.

 

Calum MacDonald

Calum MacDonald has been travelling all his life. He has lived in 7 countries across 4 continents and his enthusiasm for world travel has taken him to 25 countries including some of the hardest travel destinations on the planet. Following a degree course at Edinburgh University he began exercising his talent for innovation and design with great success. He wears flipflops in winter, keeps snakes, eats steaks and loves his avocadoes...

Neil | Administration & Co-ordination

The brains that keep our feet on the ground, while at the same time coming up with many of the best ideas we have. Born and brought up in Kenya, Neil is far and away the most widely travelled of all of us ... infact we are hard pushed to find somewhere he hasn't been. His professional life up til now as a civil engineer has seen him running incredible and breathtaking projects all over the world. We are extremely privileged to have him as a member of our team.

 

 

Robyn | Graphic Design

A keen photographer and a hugely talanted graphic artist, Robyn takes care of a large part of the Graphic Design elements of the Dexplore workings and is an absolutely invaluable member of the team. Apart from spending her time becoming hugely widely travelled, before Dexplore Robyn studied photography at art college, designed her own range of greetings cards, and launched some fantastic websites. Most of the great little graphic touches that we love so much and that make Dexplore ... well ... 'Dexplore', are down to Robyns ongoing and inspired creativity.
